Meet and greet #6: Pärt Uusberg

Mis on inimene has been one of our favourite pieces ever since 2014 and has concluded many of our own concerts.

Estonia has a strong choir tradition (2019's Laulupidu had some 40'000 participants!), and Pärt Uusberg is right in the middle of that tradition. Having grown up in the small town of Rapla, he went on to study choir conducting and composition in Talinn. In our zoom session, he spoke to us about his own music, but also about his personal connections to Veljo Tormis and Arvo Pärt, and about his current work as artistic director for the upcoming Laulupidu.
